Well you’ve probably already noticed the new look for Moongrabber. I’ve gone ahead and re-designed my blog to clean up and organize everything better, plus the old theme wasn’t quite so easy on the eyes. The new theme is based off of the great “Amazing Grace” WordPress Theme by Vladimir Prelovac, with modifications done by yours truly.
I recently wrote about the problems I’ve been having with Dreamhost, and I just can’t take it anymore. So I’m also writing here to let everyone know that I’ve decided to change webhosts, and I will be moving to a VPS provided by LiquidWeb. I’ve been trying out their shared hosting for a few weeks now and I’ve been really impressed with their service and support. I would definitely recommend them if you are in need of a new web host.
So if you have a minute, drop me a line, or leave a comment and let me know what you think of the re-design and the change in hosting.

Jon,
I love and use Vladimir’s Amazing Grace theme too. Haven’t quite gotten into making the few design color and photo changes I’m planning. However, I gotta say that I’m surprised that as a photographer you choose to remove the rotating photo images from the header.
Thanks for sharing. I love checking out how others are making use of Amazing Grace.

Yea, I’ve removed the rotating photos for now as I’m in the midst of re-organizing my photos, and I don’t quite have everything ready for that yet. I also left the photos out and plan on adding them later to do a comparison on page load times with/without the rotating photos.
Thanks for the comment, and let me know if you need any help with your site and the design changes!
Ah,…I thought maybe the header photo thing may just be temporary.

I love Minnesota but stuck with Michigan. I’m in the “tip of the thumb.” Noticed you went to Michigan Tech. My daughter and her hubby, both graduates of Northern Michigan Univ. live in Iron Mountain.
Nice to meet you.

Hi Jon,
Just wanted to say thanks again for the quick and excellent work you did with me on the tweaks I made to my blog. I’ll be referring clients to you in the future.

I really like the earthy tones – its very easy on the eye, and easy to scan through to find what I’m most interested in. I’ve only heard good things about liquidweb too, and a LOT of not-so-good things about dreamhost…
[…] of you may remember my post awhile back about moving to a new web hosting provider, Liquid Web (http://www.moongrabber.com/site-news/moongrabber-re-design-and-a-server-move). At this point I’ve been using Liquid Web’s VPS service for the last year and a half, […]
