It seems like everyday I’m hearing of a new company attempting to use blogging and social networking/social media to bring in new business, and not to be left out, Ford has joined the fray.
Ford has launched a new blogging site: www.thefordstory.com built by the direct marketing agency, Wunderman Team Detroit, with built-in social networking capabilities and social media feeds through Flickr, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and more.
My favorite part of Ford’s new setup is that they’re actually using all of these great new social media sites, and they’re using them well. Have a question about Ford or a Ford vehicle? Send them a quick tweet and they respond promptly with a detailed and helpful response.
Another great thing about the new Ford Story website is that the entire website is built using WordPress, making it easy to keep the site fresh and up to date with new content. WordPress also makes it easy for visitors to comment and give feedback through the website, and check out related stories and social networking activity.

There’s lots of great ways social media can be used for marketing. You just have to be a little imaginative.
Even huge companies like Ford need to market through Social networking. This shows how powerful social networking is when put into good use.
I have been impressed with Ford on so many levels in the past 2 years. This is just another example of how this company is really making some good moves toward much better profitability and quality. And no, I am not a Ford spokesperson. I’ve just been intrigued with how they are trying to turn the boat around.

I’m suprised more larger companies have not started marketing like this yet. No doubt over the next few years they will all catch on and do something similar.
Wow. Another great WordPress site. I think blogging is now making a big impact on a company’s image. It wasn’t too long ago that Ford’s reputation was in the dumpster. Now, with things such as this, Ford is improving their image.
I really like this, would you mind if I used some of your content? In return you of course keep the credit and get a link back to your site. Thanks.
No problem Sharon, you’re welcome to use the content, and a link back would be appreciated.
